Has anyone got any photography related trips planned for 2011?

Im hoping to join in on a volunteer project to India teaching photography (as well as English and Maths) to orphans and disabled children.

Still waiting to hear back about costings but I am looking at fund raising options both for the trip and equipment for the students to use.

I'm planning to go to:
Whipsnade Zoo
Colchester Zoo

and anywhere else lol

The deserts and canyons of Arizona, Nevada and Utah in March. Not the first time I've been there and won't be the last. Love it. And there's always something different to see.

Back to Kenya in Sept hopefully on safari.

I went here a couple of years ago but the Mrs never lliked it so I was unable to take full advantage of the photography possibilities.

Thinking of going back again on my own but not sure if I am comfortable with that idea.

will be going to the Masai Mara game reserve in Africa at the beginning of April for a weeks safari.
The following week I shall be staying in a 5 star hotel in Mombasa. :D
Providing there are no strikes, volcanoes, terrorist threats and snow storms :bang:.....I can't wait!!!

An NGO has offered to take to Pakistan to help document the aftermath of the floods so fingers crossed that goes ahead.

If not I am planning to backpack Germany and France in the summer and shoot some MF. Also visit the photography scene in Berlin and Paris to make up my mind where to move to after Uni.

My girlfriend always thinks my camera back is too heavy when we are away last time I had my 5D 24-105L and sigma 12-24 plus flash and thought it was to much although loves seeing all the phots  Got my self a GF1 with 20mm and 14-45 and small flash will be a lot lighter so see how I get on. so see what it like this time. We going to Maderia for New Year fly out 31st weather permiting. Nothing else planned just yet.

Week in the Lakes and week in Scotland booked so far - not planned further afield yet and intend to get far more days out as well (need to get more use out of the NT membership if I renew it!).

We are off to Malaysia, Thailand & Laos in less than 2 weeks for a long trip. Also planning to do a 3-4 week camping trip around Southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland in June and maybe a road trip to Morocco in September or October.

We're going to Egypt in May and have booked a day trip to Jeruselem and another day/evening in the Sinai desert. Really looking forward to both as they will offer two totally different subjects. Anyone been?

I'm off to discover the great wide open spaces of a few American National Parks in September :D Lucky for me, my wife loves photography too, so should be a real blast  Just got to make sure she doesn't keep pinching the lenses I won't to use :nono:

China in March / April followed by Asian cruise. Will be in Hong Kong for 40th wedding anniversary.

Just found out work are sending me to Berlin, but only for 24 hrs though (BOOOO) , including a bit of work to do so won't have much time.
Should have a few hrs before bed so I can't not take my 350D, so want to try some city photography. Never tried it before. Just watched Karl Taylor landscape dvd - really good. would recommend for other hobbiest/amatures.
If anyones got any image sof Berlin would love to see for inspiration.

As usual, we will be heading off to Crete for 2 weeks in early June - not specifically a photographic trip but will be taking a few photos, I'm sure) and maybe heading up to Ediburgh later in the year for a weekend.

Pretty sure there will be plenty of day-trips up on to Dartmoor and/or the North Cornwall Coast as well as more local beaches.

I have two weeks in Turkey booked for august this year. Renting a villa in a village in the mountains and it's only 20 min drive from the main town, so I should come back with some decent pics.

It would be interesting to see how these planned trips materialised?

I was planning ..

March ...... UK (done)
May ......... UK (done)
July ......... UK, yet again (done)
July ......... Egypt (cancelled)
August ..... yes, UK again (done)
September, Kenya (cancelled)
October .... UK (pending)
December, UK (pending)

Currently waiting to hear if I get onto a photography MA, if not the fees (6k) are going on one massive photography related trip, probably to somewhere cheap like India.

Shropshire next week
Amsterdam, probably won't take the SLR though
Tromso, Norway
and my first trip to the lakes

I had put down:

Shropshire - done, was crap weather
Amsterdam - done, can't remember too much
Tromso - next month
Lakes - done, was fantastic

Also 2 trips to Dorset and a Glencoe visit in December

I did my USA canyons & deserts in March as planned. A comparatively modest, for me, 3846 miles in 24 days through Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah. Some I've seen before - eg Grand Canyon [crap weather and didn't hang around], Antelope Canyon [excellent day], Arches Nat Park, and Canyonlands. But a lot of new stuff like Mesa Verde, a hot air balloon flight from Sedona, the Titan Missile Museum, and a trip round the aeroplane graveyard at Davis Monthan Tucson. And a lot more besides.

I've got Brussels & NYC booked up in the coming months. I've not been to NYC for ages so should be great - perhaps I'll bump into Gilden as he prowls the streets

We did the Malaysia and Thailand trip for 3 months, but everything else got cancelled as we ended up buying a house in Pembrokeshire and moving to Pembrokeshire. Definitely going to do the 3-4 week camping trip around Southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland in June next year though. Morocco is on the back burner for the time being...
