Hi,

I'm looking for any suggestions of places to shoot landscape photography in the Leicester/Leicestershire area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

bradgate park? and bit of a drive, but the peaks are always amazing...

What sort of places are you looking for?

Loads of great places in Leicestershire.

Any suggestions for abandoned factory/hospital type locations around the city would be appreciated.

I am looking on 28dayslater as well but any suggestions welcomed

Thanks, have spent some time in Bradgate Park. Love the rapid changes in colour at sunset/dusk. Just trying to look for other options.

what about ratcliffe power station near to junction 24 of the m1? i'm going there soon to see if i can get any decent shots.

Kirby Muxloe Castle, second vote for Beacon hill, and the surrouding areas - Blubell woods, bradgate park, old John (the folley at bradgate?) lots of weirs etc. round Barrow upon Soar, loads of canals and don't forget the Great Central Railway line for viaduct/bridge shots with the trains in steam.

Belvoir castle and Battle of Bosworth battlefield are quite good. Also Calke abbey and Staunton Harold just north of Ashby.

there's an abandoned hospital in Loughborough town centre, looks fairly smashed up inside though, no great access, it is literally in the town centre, and apparently has security patrols every now and again too :(

All good suggestions, try the reservoirs too. Cropston and Swithland are ones I've shot a bit but there others scattered around the county. The woodlands are nice up that way too.

Don't forget Rutland either, but that might be a bit of a haul depending on whereabouts in the county you are.

The National Space Centre is interesting of course, if you can find a suitable angle, and the new Highcross Shopping Centre can look good too if you're into architectural stuff.

You may find some inspiration in this flickr group too: http://www.flickr.com/groups/87809133@N00/

I would also like some Ideas as I have a model that wants to shoot on derelict buildings

Btw the hospital has now been demolished. Was great before that though!
