Yes
I'm thinking of going to Nikon, but avoiding selling and buying processes and just trade-in for a Nikon camera and I was wondering if you know any stores where I can try and do that.

I'm looking for one of these D3100, D5000, D200, D300, D80, D90, D70, D60, D40.

Thank you.

Any one of the second hand dealers should be able to help. I had a good experience selling my 1D2n to MPB Photographic but you could also try Mifsuds of Ffordes.

MPB usually have most of the Nikon models you looking for in stock.. and they are great to deal with too

^^^

Neil's spot on - hope your're located somewhere close to one of the dealers.

That's a lot of very different bodies! A d200 is very different to a d40.

Why the switch?

Lce are one of the few high st chains that still do it.

I've used LCE in the past when I upgraded from a 300D to a 30D and was happy with the service.

Indeed, their service is very good.

I just want to try Nikon, I've had a D50 few months ago for a week to use and I was charmed by the color output.

The colour output us whatever you make it!

Switching systems is often an expensive itch to scratch.

To be honest It won't make much difference as you can Taylor the colour output in pp'ing.

I take it you don't shoot raw then? My advice would be to shoot raw then tweak the colour afterwards in PP. It'll save you a bundle.

Yes you're right, I shoot mostly jpegs(as I'm not a professional I don't really have the time for pp), but I'm just itching to get something new/different :D

You would probably get more for this selling it and put this towards a new purchase. Either trading on this forum or somewhere like avforums classifieds!

Depends. I think from the manufacturers point of view none but most of the secondhand dealers offer 3-6 months ie if there is a problem send it to them and they will send to the manufacturer and pay the bill

I've finally decided to keep the camera even bought few lenses :)

Out of interest, what lenses did you get?

Always better off selling second hand than trading in. The mark-up on new camera gear is so small these days that camera shops only make a few percent. however on second hand kit they make 100% - buy for £50 sell for £100, so they will never give you much for a trade in.

That's not always the case in my experience, I was offered a very fair amount on a Konica Hexar RF from Ffordes a couple of weeks ago. I was actually surprised that they offered me so much, they're only making 25% on it of they sell it for the full asking price.

I sent an e-mail out to about 10 different dealers (picked up a load of e-mails from Amateur Photographer magazine) and the difference in prices that came back was amazing!
