I haven't seen... Are they really? Seems very crass to me, not just a tad
Yeah they really are.
I don't know why but even I thought "blimey".
Can't say I'm in the least bit interested, it's been hyped up all the way
Exactly - same as the OJ Simpson circus was.
From what I have read, it appears that he is more guilty than a puppy sitting by a pile of poo........... the defense was shockingly crap, but not as much as the prosecution, who messed up quite a bit. Despite being an Afrikaaner in front of a black judge, I would honestly not be surprised if he walked away without a sentence.
There are enough previous cases which resulted in non custodial sentences and I believe he'll walk.
Personally I think he should see jail time.
That comes down to whether you believe he shot to kill in the belief he was scared for his life, or whether you feel
a) he didn't adequately ensure he wasn't shooting at his GF.
b) he intended to kill his GF
If you believe a or b, I understand the need for jail for sure. I think its a mix a) and the top. I believe he shot to kill an intruder, but he didn't adequately ensure he knew what he was shooting at. He needs some jail time alas on balance.
My OP was about sky's rather tasteless advertising for the live verdict coverage.
ok. They have to sell airtime, people will tune in for sure.
Remember the Nanny trial in the USA, Louise Woodward, it was televised or a lot of was. Its nothing new
I believe he'll walk.
But..... the judge didnt feel the same way, and she sat through all the evidence and heard all the arguments and decided it wasn't his intention to kill his girlfriend. I am happy to think that maybe she knows a little more about the case then any posters on hereI believe he shot to kill his girlfriend.
I have never believed that he thought he heard an intruder, got out of bed without noticing that she was no longer there, and went off in search of said intruder.
Any sane person would perhaps yes, have taken the gun, and the girlfriend and left the building.
Sadly the trial, and his histrionics throughout were a joke.
But opinion on the crime at this point is by the by. I believe that the crime for which he has been found guilty warrants some time in prison.
But there's other threads full of that.
