Hi peeps,
I have just developed a roll of Neopan and have noticed a very slight pink hue on the negs, more noticeable on the clear areas.
I had a quick google for info and mostly found that it can be caused by weak or exhausted fixer.
Problem is, I don't reuse my fixer (Ilford Rapid), it's always new straight out the bottle.
I have only ever developed Neopan once maybe twice before and never really noticed this effect. My last film I developed was Ilford HP5+ and I certainly did not notice a pink hue on that or any previous Ilford films.
Although it doesn't affect matter too much as the film will eventually be scanned as B&W and any futher correction, if needed, can be done then.
I have read that certain films do have quite a strong hue, more so Kodak, where sometimes it is nigh on impossible to remove it with fixing and washing.
I developed this film exactly as I always do so not really anything there that could have caused it.
Could my fixer be going 'off' in the bottle?
Any pointers would be appreciated.
Regards..,
