Ping Pong or Table Tennis

One is played with a table tennis ball and one with a ping pong ball

'Ping Pong' and 'Table Tennis' are often used interchangeably. There is no difference in rules, however, table tennis is the official name of the sport, and is therefore always used for organization names, tournaments and the Olympics. This is because 'Ping Pong' is trademarked.

From Internet source.

I used to okay this at school and ended up being pretty good. Then on holiday I entered a competition whilst being half cut from the all inclusive. I got heat in the first round by a kid. He was good actually and in the final he got a very competitive Italian guy who was talking tactics with his mates. He did not want to lose. Poor kid, he was a great laugh. We all applauded the kid more than the Italian.

I enjoyed playing it again and it was nice to see the kid be up for the win.

Ooh whilst we're on the subject of having different names for stuff can someone please tell me the difference between ginger ale and ginger beer? No matter what answer I give customers looking for one or t'other it's wrong!

On Mr Jones's tangent, what constitutes a ginger beer shandy? Is it ginger beer topped up with lemonade or beer topped up with ginger beer?

To answer his question, ginger beer tends to be a drink all on its own while ginger ale is more often used as a mixer to make cheap Scotch less undrinkable!

played TT/PP pretty much all my life and was chuffed to bits when my lad showed interest, he is now 9 and has done well in all tourneys so far.. we have been contacted by a few clubs after him and the one highest on our list moved location over xmas holiday and its 2 mins walk away so that pretty much confirmed which club he will be going to. :)
