hi all. I transfer my pictures to photo bucket, and put them on here,
but have been told photo bucket spoils your photos,
where is the best place to put them, ie flikr Photoshop, or elements.
do you have to pay anything, thanks beginner sam.

Hi Sam, Flickr seem to be the popular one on here, once you get the hang of posting your pictures on to here it easy :)
hi I tried to upload 150 pictures to my flickr account.
but kept failing was it too many at once.
I kinder gave up in the end.

I normally just upload three or four, otherwise you can get timeouts...

Hello Sam, I use flickr and upload multiple files with no issue. flickr do offer you an uploader which simplifies things enormously. http://www.flickr.com/tools/uploadr Get yourself an account and start uploading.

I load up complete sets which sometimes have over 100 images with no problem. I don't bother using their uploader any more - It worked fine but now I just use the Upload option from within Flickr (i.e. using my browser rather than a separate uploader application). I just click on "upload" when I'm at Flickr - an upload page comes up and I drag the images across into that window and click on "Upload <x> images".

Hi Sam, what software are you using now? I use lightroom for sorting and editing. You can then export straight from LR to Flickr without logging into the website

hi chris, I have picssa3,
what is lightroom. do you have to pay for it.
I just find flickr to much hassle.
I also have photo bucket, which I find easy, but if it spoils the photos, and as you know I can ruin any photo, lol.
I need to find an alternative.

I use Lightroom to organise my photos and also for processing RAW files, although you can also edit JPEGs. It isn't as in depth as Photoshop or Elements, but with the latest version I hardly ever use Photoshop now. Unfortunately you do have to pay but you can download a 30 day trial to see how you get on first.
You can also upload to Flickr with 1 click and any future changes are synched

Photobucket can degrade images on the default settings through aggressive compression. If you adjust the controls in the user settings to allow images of 1024 along longest edge and turn off compression then your images should come through unspoiled. You should also re-size your pictures to be no more than 1024px along the longest edge before uploading.
