Just thoughti`d let people know this is on. Thats if your not already watching it. Its currently on CH4 but will be on Ch4+1 at 8pm.

:)

I'm no expert, very far from it, but some of the final 3 pics looked very average for me from the 'finalists' this week

I liked the boxing picture by Liz, the family on the estate by Ed and both the Heathrow No Third Runway picture and Polo picture from Lucinda - I didn't think anything was exceptional however, but then, these guys are on the TV and I aint! lol! :D

Good programme though - more than happy to see Aron and Ed gone!

Thanx for the reminder ... PoW ... ... wonder if this episode will be an improvement on last ...

Recording it to watch when I finish here ... :D

:p

A few good pictures, although I feel last week's episode had some better photos in it though. I think rather than voting off people each week it would have been better keeping all of the photographers until the end of the final show, as it would have been possible to see if the others that left faired any better in the situations this week. Although I suppose if they did that then there wouldn't be the suspense at the end of the show to appeal to the general public.

I really enjoyed this episode very much. It was fascinating to see their different approaches to the documentary assignments, and I really identified with Lizz and Lucinda at their sense of panic almost, and frustration, when things weren't going to plan.

Glad to see Aron gone (I reckon he was trying to put one over the judges, showing six images instead of three) and to see Ed gone as well. For someone doing a Masters in documetnary photography, his selected images were bland and poor relevant to the assignment, I thought, and to me he came across as altogether too complacent.

Definitely the right decision by the judges this week, IMHO.

i agree i would have preferred them all to be there for all 3 weeks.

Thought Lucinda did the best job this week. Although i think ed thought he was the winner and was quite suprised to leave.

Rob - great idea, I agree entirely. And another aspect where we must congratulate the show - thanks for not having it a Public 090x vote the tog off! In this day and age its a wonder that each tog was not voted off by Premium phone or text lines!! :D :D :D

I agree, however it seemed to me that he took some good shots, but was trying to choose some that he thought showed off his creativity to impress the judges, and as a result of this ended up with a poor selection. I think if he chose what he thought were his best 3, and was ignoring everything else, he may have had a better selection.

I was surprised this week, Aron did actually make me laugh with his stuff, but I'm not surprised he went as I was surprised he made it past the 1st round.

Can anyone get onto the Picture This website?

It must be getting cained at the moment i'm guessing.

I only saw the last 5 mins, so missed most of it. I was suprised how normal the pictures were though, personally I much prefer the entries in the competitions on here, but it must be hard to get pictures with a tv crew watching everything you do.

Yes reckon the site is getting hammered - can you get into www.flickr.com either?

"Flickr is having a massage at the moment" !!!!

Cathy, Ed has a BA in photography and completed a Masters in photojournalism and documentary photography at the London college of communication. Right decision this week, considering this he should have breezed this. But then........

I wasn't impressed when Ed said that he felt he had been judged by different criteria/standards to the others because of his photography qualification. To me, the judges' deliberations that we saw did not indicate this, and it came across as sour grapes. He certainly was surprised to leave the show.

I think the judges expected more from him given his background but he didn't cut the mustard and paid the price.

I was confused - I thought if you do documentary then you capture what is there, but do not intervene or add anything that was not there to start with (like props) - maybe I’m wrong - I’ve seen photos on this forum that are way, way better, and there are people here with knowledge of there equipment and techniques that are far higher (IMHO) then those shown in the show

Agreed. Some of the images seemed very contrived and a lot of good documentary stuff was not used by the contestants (Like the horse breaking free - Think that was Ed), probably because they were trying to pick images specifically to impress the judges.

The judges definitely made the right decision IMHO, the girls definitely had more about them, the boys seemed flat by comparison.

Note to Aron: To work, jokes have to be based on reality.............and be funny!

I have to admit, ED's photo of the stand at the Polo match was a good, spot, but as the judges commented, It could have been taken anytime, and at any type of sport.
What could have made a good image was the empty stand, with a polo player going past. Then you'd know what sport it was, and furthermore, no one was watching from that stand.
