Let me set the scene............
I was walking my pointer, shes brown, (and that does have a baring on the story)
along a path by a stream, a couple of days ago.
Coming from the opposite direction was a small group of teenagers.
Who (subconsciously) saw Luna, no more than 10 feet away,
nip down the bank to "point" a couple of ducks.
The female mallard ( also brown) didn't "hold" and went almost vertical, skimming ( yes really) their heads.

Luna had continued to walk along the bank, out of sight, to emerge directly
behind the teens, just as the Female Mallard had "put in" a little further up-stream.
The kids turned with a WTF was that? just to see Luna emerging
from the stream, up the bank.

What followed was a highly amusing exchange of words, they were totally convinced that the GSP had flown over their heads, and said,
"Cool do that again Mr".

I just explained that she only does that once a year and normally on April the
1st, its just that she is early this year, and that they will have to wait
until next year now ! :D

(all of that is true  Had I saved the story for April 1, you may not have believed it ;))

 Blooming excellent Chris!

Did you give her Red Bull per chance?

Would have loved to have seen their faces!

Cheers Matt
No red bull was consumed in the making of that amusing little episode. :D
( the bloody dog doesn't need it, she is hyper enough )
And I guess that whole thing took no longer than 4 or 5 secs. to play out.
Giving them no time to "think" about what had just happened

   Shame you couldn't have caught it on camera !!!

I doubt that I would have been quick enough Sarah,
it really was "over in a flash" :D

How can you say that about a nice, laid back, calm breed, never could be described as hyper :D :p

Would love to have seen that happen, my boy just used to circle the field at least 10 times whilst I was still walking acroos it

I do work her, and before I do, I have to run her for about an hour or I get no sense out of her
She is approx 5.5 years old, and
The first 3 were just totally "wasted" :D

I would love to seen/overheard that little exchange.

I know what you mean - my girl is now six and calming down - my (rescue) boy is 16 months and might not make 17 months if he does not start calming down soon

It was the best laugh I had in ages Christine

Yes I know what you mean about not making "17 months"
And I am surprised that "Luna" has actually made it this far

Seriously, she was about 3 before she started to calm down
She is still "hyper"
and will work all day, if I ask her too.
A short break for lunch, a quick drink and an energy bar,
( Ok half a mars bar :D) and she is off again.

Mine sadly only made it to 4 (long story) but he never calmed down. I was reliably informed that they do slow down when they reach 12, or could that be the owners :cuckoo:

LOL
But sorry to hear about your's Ingrid :(

TBH, she has got "better" year on year (or should that be hunting season on hunting season?) from her 3rd on wards.

'twould seem that GSP's have only two brain cells, getting them to work together,
is the hard part

Long time ago Chris he would have been 10 now,he was an accidental rescue of a dog with major problems, nicknamed HELL HOUND for very good reasons.
I was doing HPR training with him and he was doing great, must have been one of the few who's brain cells did communicate

Ah yes hell hound I can relate to that :D
(she's lovely really :D)

Glad yo hear you found the only one who's brain cells worked in tandem
(albeit for a short while)

:lol::lol::lol:

I'd have another tomorrow if I had the time, so much energy, so much character, always into everything, just not sure my remaining git would be happy living with another one :(

I'm sure it would be fine Ingrid!
I got mine, (GSP) when my poor ( grumpy old sod of) an Alsatian was "getting near her time"
( back legs :( )

Luna, the GSP, breathed about another year of life into Annie,
it was great to see them together

Aww bless, still got videos of my 3 playing together in the good times
Sadly Merlin will never accept another GSP the history with Monty wasn't a good one, vet thinks he had a mental problem that caused something similar to rage syndrome :(

:( Ingrid.

Albeit not a very good one but here is an image of Luna
"preparing for take off" :D

Oh wow Chris, solid liver, absolutely stunning , that and solid black have to be my favourites.

lol very nice Ingrid, he is a true bird dog then :D
I particularly wanted a solid liver and had to travel to South Wales to get her,
Blacks were virtually unheard of at the time ( well certainly by me anyway)

Here's a couple of better ones ( feel free to add if you want)

She really is a stunner :love::love: such gorgeous eyes.

First time I saw a solid black I was at a Game Fair and had to do a double take, owner confirmed it was a GSP I think an import at the time.

Will dig some pictures out over the weekend

I agree with Ingrid, We would have another :bonk: Must be mad!! Here are another couple of pictures I found on my PC od said hell hound !!

Thanks Mark,
