Some time age I was having a moan about my Panasonic camcorder juddering when panning and I just could not understand why. Even using the disc that came with the camcorder and the settings didn't help.

Tonight I put the SD card into our main television and the video was perfect, no juddering or anything. So my thought processes turned either to my computer or the monitor.

What I discovered was my main television was working on 50 hertz and my computer monitor was on the factory preset of 60 hertz and that was the problem. So altered the computer monitor down to 50 hertz and the video panning is now as smooth as one could wish for.

OK the monitor advised against going lower as it may cause problems but it seems this was not the correct advise.

May help if others have the same trouble.
