Picture Book - finally

I don't think I even get a bloomin' discount - photos will be a mix of mine, Cpl (now Sgt) Mike Fletcher's (the 16 AA Brigade photographer) and happy-snaps from the Paras themselves...

Best of luck with the sales on this book. I love military history tv programmes and Paras are top blokes in all campaigns.
Learnt recently my nephew has gained 'Major' pips. Not sure which regiment, but it is currently in Germany. Coming up the ranks is a great achievement and I'm very proud :)

It's nothing to do with me - 3 Para are publishing it through Pen & Sword - it just has some of my images in it - since they're Crown/MoD Copyright, I get paid nothing...lol

Nice one Rob

Awww..was just gonna ask whether you get royalties!

Knowing my luck, those images that are mine will just have 'Army/MoD' as the byline - it's what they did with their book 'Battle For Helmand' - and the publisher had even emailed me to make sure that he had the name right...!!!

I'll be interested to get my hands on a copy of this if the price isn't sky high like some photography books are. The stories of some of the conditions you're forced to work under have me intrigued.

Well done - would be good to see the book preview once it's up. Sounds like it will be a great book.

Even so.............I assume you'll still get a buzz from seeing your stuff published?

Dunno...feeling kind of ambivalent about it - especially after the last time when they didn't credit me...

The ones I treasure are my seven front-pages which I framed: 2x Guardian, 1x Sun, 1x Telegraph, 1x NOTW, 1x New York Times and 1x Washington Post...
Plus all the inside spreads...

For me, getting those was a real treat, especially the US papers (Sen. Joe Biden as he then was, holding up an ink-stained finger in an Iraqi polling station in 2005).

(after the Hard-Drive Disaster of 2006 - this is the only copy I could find...lol)

Although transient stuff, Broadsheet newspapers still have that 'something' for me...though even The Sun was good...lol
