Does anyone else find that the pictures that get the most views and comments aren't they ones they expect?

My most popular pictures on Flickr are all ones I wasnt going to post up as I wasn't necessarily very keen on them and only put up as I had nothing else to post that day so went back through my rejected pics just for something to do. The pics of mine I really like don't seem to get any attention.

I hope you dont mind I added you as a contact on flickr, I like to browse and to comment other peoples photography [and have mine browsed and commented on]

But I again find, that the ones that are view'd the most, are almost my "rejected" pics...obviously people interpret photographs differently.... We maybe too harsh :D
 
I'd say its the way of things really. Flickr is just the public. When you have that many people in one place, they're not all going to agree.
 
No stranger than DeviantArt, or any other large sharing site. Some people will rise above others, some brilliant photographers will get lost in the crowd.

I agree Pete DeviantArt can be very strange at times, i never really thought about it for photos mainly manipulated art.

i'm only member of 1 group because i was invited, never got round to joining any others until you mentioned i thought you needed to be invited & i wasnt part of the in crowd :lol:
 
My most popular photo is one of the fake motivation posters. Go figure :shrug:

I use flickr these days for the convenience really. Occasionally I got comments and very occasionally one of mine is added as a favourite but the whole views thing isn't important to me.
