Pics if any interest?

If they cant be arsd putting a pic up, I loose interest.

Does anyone else feel if they see a for sale thread that says "I will post pics if any interest" think bit lame thanks.

?
Yep.
And also "if interested I will PM you images"
FFS! post the damned things others maybe interested, it also saves wasting time, if the other person(s) are not really interested.
Post them once!

Yup, if you want to sell it make the effort. This forum is no worse than others for this though.

I always think they don't really want to sell it.

You're on a photography forum - how difficult should it be for someone to know how to upload photos? As above, I loose interest immediately.

but on the other hand...

Setting up, taking and posting pictures of kit isn't the most joyous thing to do and some for sale threads attract nothing but tyre kickers so personally I can see the point. Why waste time taking and posting pictures if no one is interested?

It's one view... it may not be right but I can understand it.

I think I've posted pictures in all my for sale threads.

Agreed, especially if it's for more mundane items like filters and other low value sundries, we all know what they look like!

Worse is when a request for images results in tiny jpegs too small to see condition - taking the p*ss.

I'm surprised too. There are thousands of items for sale on all sorts of sites so you need something to get your item noticed so a photo is essential from the off, IMO.

The other thing I'm amazed by are those that can't be bothered to post a reasonable photo of what they are trying to sell. The photo is either too small or even worse out of focus. They must have seen it before they posted it but posted it anyway. At the best it looks as if they don't care/can't be bothered; at worst it makes me think, "Are they trying to hide something?".

No excuse these days to not put up a photo. Especially on a photography forum. If anything I normally see it as reducing the value of your items. Surely if you want someone else's money than you do anything to make it easy for them to part with it.

Even for low value mundane items that we all know what they look like. I don't like seeing stock photos, it isn't about the photo in such cases, it is about building trust that you are a genuine seller.

I agree. We've all seen enough photos.

Or were you missing a 'not'? :D

PS welcome back, poster formerly known as symbol.

And another one, "No offers" followed by half-a-dozen bumps and a query about an apparent lack of interest..

Or the ad for an obscure item that gets endlessly bumped. Take the hint; nobody wants it.

Agree with you. Takes little effort to get some pictures of what youre trying to sell!

Another forum I occasionally visit has a strict no photos no thread rule for the classified ad section. Works treat, that said it would take some moderating on here.

Would be great to see all the classifieds wallahs going purple-faced again though :D

There is. Once the bumper hits their 50% limit!!! What's the betting he'll whinge if/when that happens?

you know you want that belt !
It's not my colour.

(and.. jeez, wtf, *how* much for a replica memento relating to grown men rolling around on the floor play-fighting and pretending it's not about.. you know.. two men rolling around on the floor.. ..)

Maybe there should be a limit to the number of `bumps` if no interest?
Pretty much as @Nod said. we don't worry about endless frequent bumps any more, people will soon bump themselves out of classifieds :D

Don't bloody start them off again, its only just settled down after the last "rule change"

Although it has to be said we are still getting why can't I access the classifieds? baring in mind this all changed well over a year ago now,
you have to understand that there are some that only drop by every year / couple of years, to buy and sell.

Once they are directed to the appropriate thread, some / most, say fair enough, and get posting, and then get back to selling,
of course there are the odd one or two that get disgruntled and either
1) say f*** you I'm off
2) say I have no chance of getting my average down, and try and start another account.
3) slip silently into the night, never to be seen again.

Still get the odd spate of "nice pic" posts to bump a ratio or two too ;)

it is ab# bit like in the 80s folk had really crap replica jap sword sets on their mantle piece.

Absolutely :D
If they persist, solely for access they also find that they can't post in the classifieds, what ever their ratio ;)
