pics for xmas pressies?

just wondered since we are all photographers on here, do you get images as a gift for someoone for their xmas?


usually all of my pressies i get people feature an image of some sort, either an image its self or an image printed on too something :)

i got my mum a photobook and i got my bf a photobook with our adventures in it and i also did a few sexy photoshoots and he will be getting some of the images form them as well :)

no but there was a possibility of boobs so we went for the more important topic, this year I ran out of money so am giving hand printed BnW prints to people as I have film n paper n chems but no cash :D

i got sexy/ classy shots - nothing you would see in a guys magazine lol
 
I see you have changed your avatar; one from your recent shoot? If your present contains similar, they should be very well received.

I too have used some of my images for a few of this year's presents. They have come from special, never to be repeated occasions, and hopefully will have special meaning for the recipients.

ye it is one of the images from one of the shoots - i thought i should update - there is no excuse this time - i have plenty to choose from. :)
i hope he likes them :)

your present is similar to the images i put in the book for my bf - its great to look back on.

its nice that you are so thoughtful with regards to your pressy :)
 
Well it's too late now to send your pics as Xmas Cards like I did. Which cost me 15c each for 6x4 prints,
plus 15c each for envelopes, plus a 50c stamp = $16:00 the whole deal incl. postage.

Twenty different images for twenty selected friends- but with just a few days left til Xmas I've received only 6 cards back -
Is that what is meant by the law of diminishing returns? :thinking:

I think sexy pics for the other half are a good present, I sent my hubby loads when he was out in Afghanistan last yr :) and they are fun to do, lets jus say his uniforms came in handy lol
 
My extended family all get together early December for a Christmas party where I take loads of photos, including group shots of mum, dad and their children, mum, dad and their grandchildren, individuals, families etc. For christmas, their presents include framed photos - something individual, something for their family, group shot etc.

Just finished the framing and wrapping.... :lol:

it's a shame i couldn't get a hold of his fireman uniform! :naughty:
 
I did a shoot on friday for a girl who was giving her boyfriend a callendar for his Xmas with a different photo of her each month, of course dressed especially for him ;) Was a bit weird as she was quite nervous but quite good fun.

As for photo pressies from me I think people are getting sick of them and I am having to buy real pressies :D. Last couple of years I have printed some photos of my friends out and put them in a nice frame. I have put some of my xmas cards and birthday cards last year also. Generally though my photos are not something you would want framed!

None of mine are good enough to give away as presents to be honest. My mum does use some of the family shots I take of my neices and nephew to make calanders with though.

i got a variety of shots for his xmas, i wore his shirt, army hat, and a sheet :)

i did buy a corset specifically for the day but it didn't come on time - even though i ordered it 10 days before.

awww thats nice - i bet her OH wil love them :)

i think my family are getting sick of photos for pressies as well lol
so i have reduced the amount of photo related gifts this year :)
 
my wife went through a years worth of photo's and made a 2010 callender of the kids for all the grandparents etc.

i never new she had done it until they arived in the post. would have been nice to apply some PP to a good few of them, but its a lovely high quality callender which i'm guess is A3 size. Thats from Photobox FWIW.

that would have been a good idea.

i edited about 200 images for the books - it took my ageas and i don't fancey doing again lol
 
I used his number ones and his greens, produced some cool shots and it was all good fun, also used baggy shirt and a baggy t-shirt with black hot pants which gave some good shots too :)

he took me to see Queen - We will rock you, for the 2nd time :)
first time was in Canada 2 years ago.
a corset, a macro filter thing for my camera and some other goodies :)

he also gave me money - but i said we could put it towards the next holiday instead of me spending it on the sales :)

In seriousness; what macro filter things did you get? I'm getting bored with the cheapo ones, as they end up so soft. Really nice at lower resolutions, but a bit rubbish close-up. Still worth a tenner though.
 
Ah, good. That was the other one I was told to buy, but was being a cheapskate at the time. Hope you get some good results. If you do then that'll be my next purchase. :thumbs:
 
Okay I'll post the first photo then...

Here's a snap I took with the iPhone of one of my wheels powder coated in satin black. They're in the garage waiting to be fitted - can't wait, darn snow. :(
