I either shoot in M or if i can't be bothered put it in P.

Still can't decide over the 14-42 or 40-200?

Picked up an iPad yesterday though. The camera connector kit is awesome. Reads the GF1 raw files.

Your right there the iPad is a awesome kit had the 64g 3g version since lanch day :) cant live without it and it took it to the lakes with me the other week and all the photos I took in RAW with my GF1 was a god sense to view on the ipad :)

I am thinking of getting a 40 - 200 how much you seen it for?

Treated my self. Using a mouse is becoming awkward plus heavy and like you say it's good for looking at pics.
Have you tried FilterStorm on the iPad?

Was in jessops looking but after a bit of a funny argument with sales droid who reckoned dSLR is only option I gave up looking in there.
Mathers do it for £229.

Not tried Filterstorm yet is it any good?

Yeah jessops always want people to go for the big kit they tried that with me and I said I have already got the big kit just want the smaller kit to stick into the baby changing back for more portability...

I just keep it all simple as possible, got to look after my old brain..

GF1 20mm hand held ....a bit on the misty side !:bang::help:

Dave, it looks like you've got some dirt/grease on your lens giving your image that dreamy, soft focus look. Have you checked it's clean? A decent lens cloth might be in order or if that doesn't shift it then a proper lens cleaning fluid and lens cleaning tissue should.

First shots from my GF1, As a film user, I'm pleased with the size which is on par with the likes of my F3 but with PQ that matches my 1dmarkII in most circumstances.

AF is very quick with the 20mm prime lens and I have a Nikon F mount convertor as well handy to test some of my nikon primes on it!

Have just cleaned lens with lens cloth and looks better, but will try it in day light tomorrow and show result...

Thanks for advice.

iPad and GF1 are a match made in heaven - I love looking at the photos on the big screen

Sorry to be pedantic but isn't it the 45-200mm ? And Mathers is the cheapest place I have seen it @ 229

Cleaned the lens but no better so tried this picture of the map, looks better to me but think I am expecting too much! Light is bad this am ie no sunshine....20mm 1.7 30thsec

Thanks for your help Will, all help appreciated:thumbs:

Oldboy,
Do you have a tripod? If you want to check if the lens is sharp then using a tripod will remove any possible camera shake. Try the same picture at different apertures and set the camera to it's self timer.

Quickly tried it Marco wth a Goriila tripod, not enough time to mess about this am but will try further later on I hope.....using self timer 20mm 1.7

Thanks for help mate think this is going to fix the problem ...I hope.

Calendar slightly crooked so goes a bit out on the bottom right hand corner.

Spending time on it should be able to perfect it..

Just for info: uploaded my first set of GF1 pics to Alamy last night and they sailed through QC this afternoon. All handheld landscape stuff taken with the 14-45mm on a very windy day (including those Brecon Beacons pics I posted a couple of pages back). Nice to know the quality is good enough from this potent little combo :D:thumbs:

Congratulations (not sure if these are your first images to be accepted). I know the GF1 is capable of some fantastic images but I wouldn't have thought they'd sail through the Alamy QC process..

Fab..

Congratulations! Can you share the pics? I'd love to see them...

Cheers all. Been on Alamy for a while but usually submit from my 50D and L glass. I was hoping the GF1 would be up to the job (no reason it shouldn't be really) but I am pleased a selection of hand held shots taken on a windy day were technically up to scratch. Says a lot for the IS and detailed RAW output I think. Here's a few of 'em:

Just native file size, which come out at 34MB-ish I think. Tend not to bother upsizing now there's no need to.

These are lovely, Julian. Especially No.2.. its so sharp and well exposed.. love it

Seems all ok now I've cleaned the lens....this was taken late last night just room light and TV which was quite close to the flowers.....20mm 1.7

Just ordered a GF1/20mm/LVF kit from Mathers........was told I was lucky as it was the only one in stock:), don't know whether he meant that kit or whatever but pleased to be told that because I need it for the weekend.
I also have a 14-45 on the way as well.

I have posted on here asking which supplier has reasonable prices and fast delivery for SDcards, but I know nothing about those cards and there seem to be different types, can anyone tell me exactly what I need / what is best for the GF1.

I've got an SDHC card, 4gb and 8gb. The ones I am using are Transcend (Class 6). They are working really well. Don't go lower than Class 6 else you will have a problem with video. They are now doing a Class 10 but I haven't tried this. I bought mine from gomemory.co.uk. An 8gb card was 13.99 with free delivery. Card arrived quickly and genuine item.

Good luck with your GF1. I had mine from Mathers and well pleased with their service. Enjoy your new camera.

Cheers Barbara, that is very helpful, will give them a look.

Thanks Barbara, I for my sins care for Partner (84) 24/7, she unfortunately has Alzheimers, some days are good for me but most are trouble all day, she cannot be left on her own now, I am head cook and bottle washer, about 4 weeks ago she vanished from the waiting room of the Chiropdist Clinic I was attending, it took 1 and a half hours to find her, well our marvelous Police Force did in the end over a mile away.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. It must be very difficult for you. I know you can't have much time to use your GF1, but keep taking the photos whenever you can. You do need a little time for your own enjoyment.

Lovely photo Barbara, but surely they are tongs?? ;) :D

It would only be a cow who would put its tongue on a gate!! :)
