anyone used picasa 3? ive just downloaded it and it seems canny.. what do you guys think?
Picasa doesn't change the original files on my PC. Not that I use it that often, but I use it in work for the very reason that it doesn't alter the original files. You can only see the changes in Picasa (at least on my PC), and any changes can be undone.Aye its a canny wee program, fast, handles RAW fine but sux for editing, I use it as a big notebook of all my shots, careful if you edit with it as it changes the real file.

I am guessing you can then export the changes you made to a jpg file, like Lightroom does, while leaving the original in tact?
I just downloaded it, mainly as a library viewer for my raw images since it has a much nicer interface than ViewNX.
Does anyone know if there is a shortcut to go from viewing the images in Picasa to editing them in Ps?
The main thing I like about Picasa is the way all you can see all the images displayed and just scroll through them, with most other software you need to do a file/open to view them and then you need to know pretty much what you want to view. Picasa lets you do this right of the bat, then it's just a case of left click with the mouse and choose "locate on disc" if you want to know where it lives on your hard drive...
I agree and I like that you can export your pic to a file and then take off everything that you've added to it and have your original picture
