Yes
CS3, CS4 etc that kind of stuff.

Where did you get yours and how much does it cost.

Thanks

About £350-400.

There's no such thing as an OEM version of Adobe - they only license retail versions. But if you're in education or have a family member in education, you could get it cheaper as long as you're not using it professionally.

Sorry, that's for an upgrade licence. If you're starting from scratch, it's more :(

so my photography lecturer might be able to provide me with a copy to edit pictures.

What does OEM mean.

OEM = original equipment manufacturer. It's a licensing scheme where a computer vendor can obtain licences at a discounted rate. For example, you can get Windows as an OEM licence (providing you buy a bit of hardware such as a hard disk to qualify).

All I meant to say was if someone's offering you a cheaper version of Photoshop claiming it's cheaper because it's OEM, that person's not telling the truth and you should walk away ;)

Full retail versions for Photoshop CS are around £550

he should have an education licence. copying is very naughty. adobe will kill a small fluffy kitten for every copy thats pirated.

there are other cheaper solutions on the market, im doing a review of Photoplus at the moment from serif, its very good for what it is, and it only costs £60, other software you could look at is photoshop Elements, this is more than most people will ever need anyway. ;)

CS3 and CS4 where the first things that came to me when I was doing my post.

Just basic editing software is what I would be looking for.

Will speak to the college tomorrow to find out what I need to purchase and find out what the college will provide.

I bought Creative Suite 2 and it cost £750 back in the day - that was 2005/6 I think. Got it from Computer warehouse for my mac.

I've heard that there's something called an illegal copy that im not allowed to mention at all but I think this is just rumour ;)

I would 2nd GIMP as i am beginning to get the hang of it as it is a damn good bit of software and it's FREE so worth having a look and get some tutorials from the interweb.

For the full version of CS4 your looking around £500 for a proper version from a legit dealer, elements 7 is around the £50 mark. If your in education you may well qualify for the studient version, which I think is somewhere around £150-ish (for the full version) Your teacher shouldn't be able to supply a copy.

If that were true there would be no cats in the world,as I believe the vast majority are using copied versions. ;):nono::lol:

Photoshop CS4 for use by students in further education is around £135. You have to provide ID though and jump through a few hoops to qualify.

You do know that you can download CS4 for 30 days on free trial -> HERE! Just create an account with email, name, address.....it doesn't even have to be legit details.
