Hi all,

http://www.photoshopusertv.com/

Been watching the video podcasts on the site for a while now and thought it would be good to share.
they release a new video every week.

Who are they and what do they do?? well... the team consists of Scott Kelby, Matt Kloskowski and Dave Cross. They show several photoshop tutorials and also have guests and interviews with other photographers and their work.

its quite hard to explain fully, you can go and watch the videos direct in your browser or download them for viewing later.

Enjoy....

Chris

Oooh, *bookmarks*

I'll check that one out, cheers :)

Excellent Chris, thanks for that.

Can you please bring this to the attention of the site staff so it can be included in the plans for the tutorials?

If any of you guys have wi-fi and laptop you can watch photoshop tv on your tv in the livingroom! I use tvtonic through Windows Media Center on my laptop (plugged into my big flat screen telly). TV Tonic basically allows you to subscribe (RSS) to various online tv channels. When a new programme is available, it downloads automatically.

Beats being stuck in the study on my measly 24" monitor :naughty:

Great spot

I've been watching this for ages now. Use it at work to teach others. I think its possible to even buy the past episodes on a disc?

There are a few others out there doing a similar thing although this is the best IMHO. Try a search using iTunes.

Stupid question this but how do I connect the laptop to the TV and get the audio through the TV speakers?

I to have been watching it for ages, I posted a link to last week, when some was looking for a book, their really good tutorials and a laugh to. as for the tv no idea  but would be interested

You need an s-video cable, presuming your tv/laptop has the same connection, worth checking first. This is a pretty standard connection. This cable outputs video from your laptop/pc.

You also need one of these for the outputting sound. This connects to your headphone output on your laptop and the yellow/white inputs on your tv (again, presuming your tv has these, worth checking first).

You then change the display on your laptop to output to TV. FN key & F4 I think (at work at the moment).

If you have windows media center, you can use the remote control that came with the laptop, or you can pick up a remote for £20. I use my laptop for streaming everything from my PC upstairs, my whole music collection, all my dvd's are ripped to there, and all photos are available at the click of a button ;)

Thx Neil,

I'll have a look for those cables, pretty sure I have them somewhere? I assume there is no one cable fits all job out there?

I tried a few things Chris, and found this to be the best solution for me. There is a kit you can get somewhere that is the two cables above, but instead going into the yellow/white/s-video, you get a scart adapter.

cheers neil my laptop acer, doenst have those 1st ports, just usb ports and the headset output, any ideas

Mines is an acer too, check the back next to the monitor output thingy. What model of acer is it?

hmm, not sure. It all depends on what connections your tv has I think  VGA is the monitor output is it not? If your tv has a VGA input you should be ok, my Sony does.

It's worthwhile speaking to Maplin davenjulie, it looks like VGA to Scart is not straight forward according to some google results..

Must do some work before I get sacked
