Yes
i have just converted to raw and not sure which is best :| who uses what and why?

I always use Lightroom, I don't do all the really intricate processing so Lightroom is all I need. And it is considerably cheaper!

I've just started using Lightroom and i think it's fantastic. It allows you to import your images, catalogue them, make edits and export them, all in one application. It doesn't have the scope of image editing possibilities that Photoshop does, but its brilliant for organising all my files and streamlining my workflow, which was fairly non-existent before. As far as i know you can do a lot of the same stuff as lightroom with Bridge and Photoshop (and a lot more), but with Lightroom it's all in one package, and it has been pretty easy to learn to use so far. I think you can get a free trial of lightroom, so download it and have a go!

Photoshop is graphics software and lightroom is photographic software.

I have both, always use photoshop but thats just my preference...

.

I consider it as the main image editing software, and lightroom as a mere workflow software. When you start creating your own actions and presets it's sort of works out better to use photoshop.

The sky is the limit with Bridge & Photoshop.
I feel claustrophobic within Lightroom's somewhat limited creative environment.

But if it suits your style, I guess Lightroom is sufficient.

The answer depends on what you like doing. If you like or need to do lots of editing to your pictures then maybe PS is the tool for you.

For cataloging and converting Lightroom has all I need. I don't enjoy editing. Lightroom lets me get the job done to a good standard quickly so I can then go and do something else. I have an old version of PS but have not needed to install it since last upgrading my PC.
