i am really slow when it comes to editing and then realised that hotkeys make it quicker however i cant find a library of hotkeys and so i thought we could have a thread and build up a library of hotkeys.

my additions are:

new file-ctrl+n
open file-ctrl+o
 
This web site has a downloadable PDF for every keyboard shortcut for every version of Photoshop back to Photoshop 5 :thumbs:
 
I regularly use
CtrlA = select all
Ctrl H = deselect
As posted there are probably zillions, but my memory bank is low on RAM :D
 
cntl+shift+alt+E - creates a new layer above layers you already have with those layers all merged into it ;)
 
Google, or search on here for the 100 (or was it 101?) photoshop tips rap.
 
Prize for the first person to memorise them all? :)

CTRL+H isn't deselect it's hide selection normally
Deselect is CTRL+D
 
I use a lot

cntrl+alt+shift and press S, save for web

cntrl+alt+shift and press E, Merge visible layers

cntrl+alt Press j new copy layer

cntrl+alt Press N new layer

as well as the ones mentioned on the list from the link

A : path/direct selection tool
B : brush/pencil tool
C : crop tool
D : Resets the color palette to black/white
E : eraser tool
F : Toggles the window view from normal, full screen, black screen
G : bucket/gradient tool
H : hand tool
I : eyedropper/color sampler/measure tool
J : healing brush/patch tool
K : slice/slice select tool
L : lasso/polygonal lasso/magnetic lasso tool
M : rectangular marquee/elliptical marquee tool
N : notes/audio annotation tool
O : dodge/burn/sponge tool
P : pen/freeform pen/add anchor point/delete anchor point/convert anchor tool
Q : Enters quick mask mode
R : blur/sharpen/smudge tool
S : clone stamp/pattern stamp tool
T : horizontal type/vertical type/horizontal type mask/vertical type mask tool
U : rectangle/rounded rectangle/ellipse/polygon/line/custom shape tool
V : move tool
W : wand tool
X : Toggles the colors in the color palette
Y : history brush/art history brush tool
Z : zoom tool

CTRL+A : Selects everything in the photo
CTRL+B : Modify the color balance
CTRL+E : Merges the selected layer with the layer below, or merges all linked layers
CTRL+F : Applies last used Filter
CTRL+G : Groups the selected layer with the layer below it
CTRL+I : Inverts the layers colors
CTRL+J : Duplicates the Selected Layer
CTRL+K : "preferences" window
CTRL+L : Let's you modify the levels
CTRL+M : Let's you modify the curves
CTRL+N : Opens a new document
