I'm hoping someone here can help. I don't use Photoshop (except Elements 4.0 purely for resizing photos) but am having to use it to add a watermark to my photos.

The watermark I have was designed in Illustrator (by someone else, not me) and I have it as .eps and .psd files.

I've managed to work out how to add it to photos as a layer (why is Photoshop so %$£@*?^ complicated??) but I have no idea how to change the colour of the watermark design itself (something which I was told could be done).

I've looked in the Help files, but they are as intuitive as the program itself (in other words it may as well be written in Cantonese for all the help it offers me)

Can anyone out there explain (in non-geek terms) how I can change the colour of the .eps and/or .psd files?

Thanks

It's not complicated .....when you know how.

I'm assuming you have text on a clear ground. Use the Magic wand to select the background. Now invert the selection. This should mean that the text is now selected. ( This approach avoids selecting each letter separately. )

Now using the colour picker choose the colour you want. Use the paint bucket to simply colour the text.

Do this with the text on a separate layer, you can then adjsut the opacity of the text to give the level of transparency you need.
