Anyone who uses the above, please.
I have recently DL Elements and am having difficulty carrying out a backup of my images.

I have imported from LR all my images into Elements, all okay. I now want to backup these images to a HD. When I carry this out using "Backup" in the program the images show on the backup disk as XMP files instead of showing the image. So if I need to work on an image its is difficult to tell which image is which.

Am I doing the backup incorrectly and if so what is the correct procedure.

An XMP file is a metadata file, not the image.

The Elements Backup file is not intended to be used by you. The idea is that you use the Elements 'Restore' to restore your backup to the Elements catalogue.

Thanks for the reply, I think I will just do what I have found to work and that is copy my images in Elements and paste to my external HD.
