photoshop elements

Can anybody help a frustrated soul? I am tinkering with the sketch options such as graphics pen and charcoal in photoshop elements so that I can combine some layers.

However, when I select Filter>sketch>graphic pen the preview window opens with only the faintest image, which is of no practical use. Some of the other options in sketch such as chrome seem to work fine.

I am about to throw my laptop out of the window so your assistance would be appreciated.

on the right hand side of light dark balance, type in 100 max should work

I've already tried the light / dark balance. It simply changes the image from invisible to very very faint.

Does this happen with all images? Does it happen with original image, or is it on a layer - and have you got a mask over that layer if so?

May be worth sacrificing a goat and asking the mods to use their god-like powers to move this to the Post Processing & Image Editing section.

Thanks Jon, but unfortunatle it's the same with every image I try, whether it's a layer or the original.

May try and find a goat...

Can you post the pic so somebody else can try it, maybe the pic or a bug in photoshop.

This is what I get with the default settings on the image with Elements 10 (the only version I have access too) Are you using any layers?
