Hi All,

I did post this in the computer section but realised I'd probably put it in the wrong place :bonk:

I'm new to digital photography and so far I've only done some basic editing with Picassa ........

I've downloaded trial versions of Photoshop Elements and Paintshop Pro X3 and to be honest they are both baffling. I am prety good on a computer generally but by all means an expert.

My question ???? Which of the two is going to be easier to get to grips with ???? I realise I'm going to have to put in some effort and I guess once I decide which one to buy I'll get some instructions of some kind. But I don't want to waste money on something I'll not use.

I figure different people with have their own preference but I'd like to hear from anyone with any opinions guidance or whatever.

Thanks

i'd say elements for a couple of reasons. Mainly, because that's what i use and also if you move up in the future to the full Photoshop CS then you'll already have learnt the basic knowledge and layout of the tools and gizmos.

Also, you'll find it a lot easier to find books, online tutorials and help from people on TP if you're using a photoshop product. To be honest most of the image editing programs will have the same commons tools in them and they use pretty similar icons and layouts as well - but with Elements coming in at such a good price it's a no brainer for me. Hope that helps

Oh, one other thing... with Elements you get the combined organiser where you can tag, batch and arrange your images all nice and tidy.
