Photoshop dunce question

I'm not much of a photoshop user so please answer this in the most simplistic terms!

I have 4 images that I'd like to blend. They're all identical composition and exposures of a building. It was snowing at the time so I fired a flash off to light up the snowflakes in the OOF foreground and shot wide open so they appear as nice round bokeh balls. But since the snow was quite light, there aren't that many on each image but if I combined the bokeh balls from all four images, it would probably give me the look I'm after. Is this as simple to achieve as it sounds like it should be?

Not at all easy to do, it would be rather easier to do the reverse and remove them!

Could you try something along the lines of stacking? It’s not a tool that I use for my photography so don’t really have any extensive knowledge but it’s the first thing that came to mind

I have more conventional exposures of the same image. Just wanted to experiment a bit with the other ones

On the contrary this should be pretty easy I think.

1. Add the images as layers in Photoshop
2. Edit > Auto-Align Layers
3. For each layer above the base layer, set the blend mode to 'Lighten'

Assuming the snow flakes are brighter than the rest of the exposure, only the snowflakes should be blended through (because lighten only takes pixels which are brighter than the layer below).

If you're having problems you can use masking to only mask where the snowflakes are, or a levels adjustment to reduce the brightness of the rest of the exposure to make sure only the snow flakes come through.
