Something happen to my CS5 setup this morning and I've now given up trying to find the answer on google and decided you guys probably know the answer.

The problem is that my document window is too large. It fills the PS window all the way across to the very right which means some of the image is hidden behind the panels I've got over on that side.

How do I go back to it fitting?

Cheers Dave but still not working. The image window butts up against the tools on the left hand side but doesn't with the panels on the right.

When I clock hold on the top of the tools panel I can move it right and the images then move to fill right up against the left hand side. If I move the tools back I get a blue vertical line and it seems to lock the tools palette and the image window moves to the right. A similar blue line doesn't appear over on the right hand side.

Try hitting f on your keyboard - cycles though 3 views, on one of them you can reduce the size of the picture in the usual way.

Blue vertical line - you have dragged across the edge of the picture whilst the move tool is selected, and possibly while rulers (ctrl+R) are visible. Select the move tool again place it over the blue line until a double headed arrow appears an then drag to edge, where it will disappear. These are very useful when trying to line things up.

If all else fails and you don't have any personal settings that you don't want to lose then click on "Essentials" near the top right as this should reset your screen to your default. You can also get this how you want it and save it to your own preference using Window, Workspace, New Workspace

Thanks for the reply Christine. I think you may have helped me. I moved the panels over to the tools on the left hand side and when the blue line appeared it locked them to the tools palette and the images window then located itself further to the left. This has given me what I was after - albeit with the panels on the left hand side and not the right but that is no problem. I might even prefer it after a while. Thanks for the help.

so are you sorted now if not you can reset the prefs file as soon as you click photoshop hold down the alt+ctrl+shift it wil then ask do you want to reset the prefs say yes
