I am returning to photography after a 20 year break and much has changed. I recently purchased a D800 and would obviously like to make the most of my shots. I am wanting the best software for the job and am stuck between Photoshop which is around £650.00 new or Lightroom at £75.00 new. There seems to be a huge difference in price so is the Photoshop worth it or is Lightroom the way forward. I will take all comments on board with thanks. Jon

You can download free trials of all Adobe products as link below. I use PE10 & LR4 but have CS4 which rarely gets a look in. I do 95% of my PP in LR but others will say something different so hence the value of trying the free trials.

For me I would look at Lightroom combined with Photoshop Elements 11
I'm not sure how you intend to use CS6 but it is a very powerful programme that I think most people never use it's full potential.
As has been said, download the trials and away you go.
Also checkout AdobeTV.com for some good and insightful videos about these products.
