Edit My Images
No
Hi all,

I am new to PS CS6, only had it for a couple of weeks, one of the things I need assistance with is that once I have saved an image once processed I save it into a new folder, when I open the folder to show someone my images all the icons come up with PS rather than what I am used to being an image preview so you know which image you are selecting, is this normal or have I not done something that I should of.

Would be grateful for any help

Regards

Chris

You need to flatten the image before saving it. Or save it as a jpg file to allow viewing outside PS

Alternatively, if you don't want to flatten and save to jpg to allow viewing outside of windows, save the unflattened file as a tif. That way you can still view it as a thumbnail or in the likes of Windows Photo Viewer etc.

If you want to keep them as unflattened PSD files then you can download a codec that lets you view them in the same way. Dependant on your OS I guess. This is handy for at least viewing the thumbnail to navigate to the correct file.

If they are jpgs or tiff, Right click anywhere in the folder View - Large or Medium Icons, then you will be able to see the images rather than the PS icon

You can save as jpg without flattening

If they are jpg or tiff then they will have the respective jpg or tiff icons, no? It is only if it is a PSD file then it has the PS icon?

Yes, probably down to how each individual has their machines set-up. Default programs and all that.
