Photoshop CS5

I am new to Photoshop CS and find the pricing a bit confusing.
Does anybody know what i should be paying for the full version of CS5 for Mac. Bit worried about being ripped off.

For CS5 Extended it will cost you £933 and for CS5 £644 from the Adobe store.
If you are a Student/Teacher and satisfy the criteria (even if it is a part time course) then CS5 Extended is £185.....and for Lightroom 3 £65

Quite easy to apply once you are on a recognised course
The Student version is also a full commercial version but you cannot upgrade in future

You can buy Photoshop on its own, or buy one of the four Adobe software packages that contain several programs, these are a lot of money, £1000+, but are actually better value.

Elements is the cheaper version.

What is in the full version vs Elements that you really need?
