Hi I started out with photoshop elements 11 but was then given a "white rabbit" copy off photoshop cs5 (whatever that means) I have downloaded bridge but I cant get the two of them to talk to each other will I need to uni stall elements? or is there some thing I'm missing I have done some Google searches and tried a bridge reset but no joy can any one point me in the right direction?

thanks

Craig

This is the standard way of syncing Bridge to Photoshop:
  • Open Photoshop
  • Set Photoshop's Color Settings to 'X' - where 'X' is either one of the standard combinations (e.g. Europe General Purpose 2), or a custom combination you've made yourself
  • Open Bridge
  • Go to Edit > Color Settings
  • In Bridge's Color Settings dialog box, choose 'X' from the list
  • Click 'Apply' to close the dialog

If you close Photoshop are you able to launch Bridge on its own? (from Start>All Programs>Bridge)

Hang on, try this before reinstalling Bridge.

Close Photoshop
Open Bridge
Go to File > Preferences > Startup Scripts
Is Elements in the list (right pane of box)?
If so, untick it and try method in Post 2 again

If still no joy, I'd try this.

Close Photoshop & Bridge
Hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift while restarting Photoshop - choose delete Photoshop settings file
Close Photoshop
Hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift while restarting Bridge - choose reset preferences
Close Bridge
Open Photoshop and try method in Post 2 again

The only other thing I can think of is uninstall Elements 11 - maybe that's interfering with the PS CS5 to Bridge link.

Adobe stuff is always a swine to install.

My guess is that Elements & Bridge were already linked and CS5 doesn't like being installed over the top of them. In which case I'd uninstall CS5 & Bridge (as well as Elements) and start again. You'd have to make sure nothing is left behind from any of the 3 progs though. Revo Uninstaller Pro is quite good at uninstalling and then finding all the leftovers. http://www.revouninstaller.com/
