Photoshop CS4 Bargain?

I know there's now CS5 but some of the prices I see for any of these are eye-watering - plus the need to watch out for students version etc.
I spotted this "Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended Windows Full Retail BNIB" at £189:95 - not students or OEM, seems like good value to me and the seller appears to have good feedback ... or am I missing something?

had a look at the listing, looks ok, I have cs3, which I'm happy with, otherwise I would have been tempted, but then I'm maybe 15 miles from the seller & could have done cash on collection, so no risk, good luck

To be honest I don't think there's any real way to get genuine a bargain on Adobe, other than with student discount.

A little while back I bought what seemed to be a kosher CS4 from an eBay dealer (with lots of good feedback) for a massive discount on the normal retail price. When it arrived it didn't feel quite right, it wasn't the proper retail box, just the inner DVD case, though in every other respect it appeared genuine. So I got in touch with Adobe and they told me the serial number was already registered to someone else, and that the only way they could guarantee genuine software was by buying from an authorised reseller (though annoyingly they were unable to provide me with a list of authorised resellers...)

It's a bit of a minefield - for example I don't think any of the Adobe sellers on Amazon are authorised resellers (not suggesting their stock is dodgy).

Went to jigsaw24 in the end, and got a reasonable deal with some bundled stuff.

I would tend to agree, when I got cs3 I bought bnib off ebay, turned out to be fake got refund, then got another supposedly bnib from CEX again not new and fake got a refund, I think that pretty much anyone who sells that cheap has to be questioned.

for note though I ended up getting a win copy and just contacted Adobe who transferred the license to mac no questions asked! so if you do actually get a genuine bargin you can get it moved to another platform.

Another thing to bear in mind is that these fake CDs may be installing more than you bargained for onto your computer.
