photoshop cs2 help (probably silly)

guys i am trying my best to use photoshop with no one to give me a hand lol. i have a photo i have slightly adjusted and im prettty happy with it but i can save the image ok but when i want to save it in the green channel only i cant and i dont know y. can anyone help as im trying to make the image as a black and white style

Go to channels and click the little down arrow on the right-hand side. Select 'split channels' and you will then have three images - R-G-B choose which one you want to save or use...

PS. There are much better ways of creating B&W but that isn't what you asked...

If I understand you right, you like the look of the green channel, and would like your image to look exactly like the it? If so, thats easy to do. Go to the green channel, press ctrl +a to select it, press ctrl+c to cpoy it, then click back on your RGB channel to bring it back to colour.

Then go to your layers pallete, press ctrl+v to paste the green channel data on top, flatten your image and it will be in black and white. Then save.

You could also use the channel mixer. When your picture is in colour, go to image, adjustments, channel mixer. Set all the sliders to 0%, and click the monochrome box in the bottom left corner of the window. Then move the sliders about until you get something you like, this way you can get bits that you like from each channel.
