Photoshop cropping problem

Hi all. I have photoshop CS3. Just recently the cropping tool has started cropping in a very strange way.
Heres a few print screens to show what happens

I crop the picture, and it retains the shape, but doesn't crop the area i tell it to! Instead it crops the image down to just a few pixels.
Any one know what has gone on here, and how i fix it?

Hi bill

check whats in the boxes that may be your problem :thumbs: you may have it set to say 5px or something HTHs

to fix click the arrow next to the crop icon and choose your correct size, or they are empty for free crop sizes

Another way to get around that is to make a selection with the Marquee tool and the go to Image->Crop. There's not much in it, but I find it a touch quicker and it avoids the potential constraints of the Crop tool! :)
