photoshop conversion?

Hi guys,
I'm hoping for some advice, from those that know more than me on this matter...
I purchased photoshop CS5 a few months back (student version) for windows. Got bought a Macbook for Christmas. And although I was proper grateful – I’m gutted I can’t use my windows version on my new laptop. So…question… Is there any way I can get around my problem? Like a conversion program or anything? Being a poor student I really can’t afford to buy another version.

Contact Adobe and explain your situation they may cancel the Windows version and offer you a Mac version.
I think a friend of mine did this a few years back but dont know how soon after the Windows purchase he changed to a Mac
 
You need to contact Adobe Customer Service. Explain you want to convert from Windows to Mac.

You will be asked to show proof of purchase, and sign a destruction declaration. and there may be a small admin charge. The only problem is the Student version. Not sure if this is transferable. However don't ask ,don't get ,so you have nothing to lose

I hope you have better luck than we did.

We have photoshop on Window and decided to change to the 27" imac, only to find we had to purchase a new copy at nearly £1000.
 
I don't think you'll have any luck. The head photoshop guy at adobe was on photoshop user tv last year answering questions and this one came up, he said that they don't do it as the windows version and the mac version are so different under the hood they may as well be two completely unrelated programs.
 
Thanks for your help. I’ll ring them on Monday, to find out where I stand. Just hope I hear what I want to :)
