Photoshop cc download woes

Afternoon all..not sure if this is the right place but......Trying to download CC..Lightroom has loaded fine but can't get photoshop to load. Keeps saying to install some other programmes but when I click on those links I just go round in circles. It's asking me to install something like Photoshop CC++ ?
THE pc has service pack 2 on it, there are no updates to install,running Windows 7.Has anyone had this problem who can advise me how to sort it please ?
I'm thinking I might need to contact Adobe direct but the last time I did that they remotely accessed my pc and buggered it up
Oh yeah..
.......I'm completely hopeless with the tech side of pc's so please write slowly in simple words.....

Hi i had the same problem on windows7 Lightroom loaded up just fine then ps got to about 74% then just bombed out it done this 3 times then all of a sudden it loaded up fine.

Mine doesn't even get that far. ....click install and immediately it says can't do it

Thanks for the link @UK_Mark ....I'll give that a try ( or at least attempt to ) tonight

Had a go with that but when I tried to use it is got this message :

Which , whilst I understand the words I haven't the foggiest how to find the mentioned programme ?

I had a lot of trouble downloading the last photoshop update.
I went on their site and got live help on line.
they eventually connected to my computer and did the necessary for me. Even for them the problem was not easy, and you could see everthing that they were doing. On screen.
It took their operator over an hour to solve the problem.
I would have had no chance....

Yup...that's gonna be my Monday evening I think.... it really shouldn't be this hard...should it ??

I've had this a couple of times with PS/LR CC updates. It fails two or three times, I get fed up, let it restart, minimise the window to the system tray and then remember a few hours later to find it's magically sorted itself out with no further intervention. The latest PS CC 2015.5 did that, I ignored a couple of errors insisting I renamed a folder and just let it try and try again until it worked things out for itself.

that file appears to be part of the windows C runtime files.

you could try downloading the relevant update here and then retrying adobe:

or, for a different program but I imagine the same steps will work:

Sorry for the late reply....spent hours on the phone with a tech helpline to no avail .

Resorted to a complete factory reset & hey presto ,everything is now running as it should
Even Lightroom's Publish service is working which it didn't before
