Why don't you experiment making them? Great option for
batch processing or repeat an intricate series of steps you
don't want to forget!.

I am trying to understand how to make them , I have watched a few youtube videos..amazed by the amount applications that are involved with Photoshop..amazing tool.
Create a new action, hit the record button (if it doesn't auto record) and it will record the steps you make there after as a macro you can run time again.
Do you know what you're trying to achieve?

I was trying to add a watermark to a few images in a batch..couldn't get it to work correctly ..but just blown away with what you can do..

I did this a while ago in response to a friends question. If all the images are exactly the same dimensions and orientation then I could get an action to work. If the images were different sizes and orientations in a batch then I had to use a script.

Theres millions of free actions around, do a google search then spend the next 5 years downloading them all 
For a good way to add a watermark check out dr russel browns site, the video you want is digital branding if I remember rightly, last time I looked it was about 3/4 of the way down the page.
For resizing you could use the photo processer built into photoshop or download free eazythumbnails by fooks software (my favorite for galleries) is easy, quick and simple.
