Stunning image.
Hope everything turns out to be legit.

Nice image. Could be a few hundred quid coming your way for those I'd have thought.

Hope it's all legit.

Thanks guys..

So is there anyway I can find out that out..not sure if Fotolia will reveal the client it sold the images to....??

I don't know, but I bet someone will come along who does :D

Thanks. Sorry I wasn't clear....

What I meant to say was hope it was legit as the novel is being sold on Amazon...

You could buy a copy or borrow from a library, it should have a credit for the photo

Thanks will check in local library, however, doubt if there would be any credit if the photos were bought from stock site as I thought they were royalty-free?

Was just thinking about sending an email to Fotolia to see if they would disclose the buyer.

Other suggestions welcome...

Well contacting Fotolia seems to be the logical route doesn't it? They are the ones that would know.

Failing that contact the publishers and see what you can get from them.

I work in this area, we use a range of designers, some in-house, others freelance. We have our stock photo account, and some designers have their own. Not sure how you can trace this back... or why you want to.. That's up to Fotolia now, no?

Thanks...will try both options.

Do understand it could be difficult to trace...probably impossible, but would really like to know whether those photos were bought from Fotolia or stolen from my flickr account as none of the publishers approached for permission.

Are you saying I can leave it for Fotolia to look in to it completely? Would they do that?

Thanks.

So, are you saying that you've not been paid for a sale by Fotolia?

There has been multiple downloads on this photo via. Fotolia with some credits to my account. Of course I dont know who these would have been..

My total credit on Fotolia is about 2.34...not sure if this would be about right looking at the photos being used as cover pages for novels...I am totally new to using stock sites, so any advise would be gratefully received :-)

Ahhh, I wasn't sure if they itemised their sales or not. I know one of my friends had a photo of hers on a t-shirt in Zara - via Getty and she only found out about it in some very random way.

From memory, Fotolia pays very poorly so that's probably why you are looking at the sums you are. I don't think the make any consideration for where it is used.

Have you got a link to where it is listed in Fotolia? How many credits are required for the download?

They don't need your permission. Once you have submitted the image to Fotolia, anyone with an account can download it along with the licence to use it wherever they choose.

And that's why you should be very, very careful about which agency you choose. Don't just go on the first one that accepts you or you may regret it.

Thanks. Yes, I do understand they do not need my permission if downloading via. Fotolia. But question really is I am not sure if that's what's happened?

Unless you have any solid reason to suspect they haven't paid to use the image (do you?), I'd drop it.
