Photos on flickr which I have edited

I'm not really sure what I should do with photos that I have edited. I upload the edited photos to flick and put them in a folder called forum photos, but I am not really sure if this is the right thing to do.
If people look on flickr then they may think that the edited pictures were my work and then download and use them. Now this is of no problem to me, but how do I know that the person whose photo I have edited is happy to have their photos on flickr?
Also how long after the thread has finished should I leave the linked photos on flickr? If I delete them then I presume they will be deleted from the thread, which I am loathe to do as all these little red crosses in threads can get really annoying.
Answers would be appreciated please.

Yup - that is what I would do. Set them to private in Flickr so now one can find them randomly and think they are yours etc. The links still work fine for private ones

I tend to use my own website (www.jimmylemon.co.uk) for any edits I have done to peoples photos, then I can keep them all in one folder and out of public view.

So that I could repaste the edited photo back to the thread. I didn't want to put them in my TP gallery.

Thanks everyone for help. I will now set them to private in flickr. I didn't do it before because I thought it would stop them being viewed on the forum.
