Photos in indoor light

I have a sony a55 and have always struggled with taking photos in sports hall, classrooms etc. the photo can sometimes be orangey. what is the best way of taking photos in these situations.

Defo a white balance issue. take off auto.

And either use the tungsten (lightbulb) pre-set or do a custom white balance - see handbook.
