Photos from the Wild West

awesome

Utterly fascinating. Really enjoyed those. Thanks for linking.

A remarkable collection of images, thanks.

Amazing quality in the photos and subjects unlikely to be seen again, will any we take now be viewed a century or more from now.?

You really get that sense of the camera as time machine.

It's one thing to look at old family photos and also have your own memories to supplement them but when you look at photos like these of things that you have only ever seen re-enacted on a cinema screen it is definitely like peering through a window and being transported back 100yrs.

When you can see the actual wrinkles on a Native American Chief's face, the details on the clothes, people's expressions, their homes, it really strips away that Hollywood sheen and reveals the reality and the humanity. If that makes any sense! :)

Fascinating and the quality is great.

Some of the mots fascinating photo's i've come across! Thos photo's really do tell a story!

Excellent link,thanks for posting
Got to #57 and first thought was 'Close Encounters' :geek:

Fabulous stuff. Some of those images are as sharp as modern day stuff.

Nah, you just haven't seen any improvements in the last 100 years or so because you use Nikon. :p

Thats because I'd rather use a camera than a photocopier :D
