Yes
...but it's okay to try and jam the packet through the letterbox instead.

My normal postie was away today and the post arrived at 2:30pm. A couple of 12x8 prints from photobox in the cardboard wrap over packet. Postman tries to force it through the door then, having failed knocks instead. Result prints bent at the top two corners. Replacments are arriving tomorrow, I'll do my best to make sure I'm around so I can have a quiet word...

:bat:

Don't worry, you would have had to send them back anyway!

I have a dog for such posties. :naughty:

Give the postie a kicking

Do you not think that might be slightly overeacting?? ;)

A word with the manager at the sorting office might be worth while effot too.

Sneaky referral link you've slipped into your post there

The prints were ok, when I use photobox I prep with their darker results in mind though these were done on the "small" printer anyway, I believe it's the large prints that have been going a bit wonky.

We've got a dog but the cat is the one to worry about ;)

I can understand a slightly dubious reaction initially. I was none to fond of the idea when I first saw/heard about it. Something a little too big brother about it I thought.

I was wrong though, it's a perfectly harmless and intelligent way to offset what must be a considerable financial drain running this place.

Now that I know it's the mods that did this with the link can they please change it so you can read it with the Forum Black theme that I use.

Thanks! ;)

It's the principle of pretty much being tricked into it that I don't like.

Youve not been tricked into anything, there was a huge post that has already been linked to in this thread. We've not tricked anyone, and I certainly resent that remark. The affiliate links are visually different from normal links, they've been documented throughout the forum, and we've hidden absolutely nothing.

If you don't like it, fine, don't click them, but don't accuse us of being sneaky and tricking you into clicking something.

We were changing the colours last night, and tried black.
I've changed them to Green for the moment while we decide on a format.

Not all posties are that dumb. I once knew of one who carried a meter box key and would leave non valuable things inside that wouldn't fit through the letter box... Not the most secure idea but certainly a time saver in the better postal & rural areas and for items without real value.

Delivery is just a nerve racking process all round. I had a wedding album arrive from a company in Ireland via DHL.. nice big hole in the spine... discovered somewhere along the route a nice person in a sorting office uses a HOOK to grab parcels etc. A HOOK. Man i was fuming. Fair play to the printers, they sent a fresh one. Fortunately the client was more interested in the work so when I explained what had happened, and therefore why he would have to wait a couple more weeks.. he just said he'll accept that one. I was able to sell the other too then. Nice.

Photos do bend, very well ;)

I get mine delivered to my works address for this very reason. No letterbox here :)

i once had a photo delivered and someone had written after "photos do-not bend"

"Oh yes they do"

LOL I know I shouldnt laugh but that did make me chuckle :)

Sorry guys I have to say i like my postman, always delivers when expected, not had anything damaged and he knocks really loud cos i dont have a door bell and he know im always alseep when he delivers parcels (do my parcel ordering when on nights so im in to receive them).

and LOL at "oh yes they do"

My postie happens to be a rather good looking, young, blonde girl ;) She can do what she likes with my post!

The DHL delivery person that visits me from time to time (I don't choose DHL) is very nice indeed, it's hard to moan at her.

I'm a postman and have been for almost twenty years in which time I've seen a once highly regarded job turn into that of a reverse dustman.

I will say though, there are few things I hate more than the a*holes in Royal Mail management from the top, £3M Crozier & co down to the those in my office who I'd like to punch in the face on a daily basis and one of them is generalising on the internet about poor service received from us guys who have to go out six days a week, overloaded with ***** that people don't want come wind , rain or shine.

You wouldn't believe the amount of hassle I get from doing what should be an incredibly simple job.

Solve the problem easy, get a bigger letterbox.

first time i have ever had photos printed online but i recently used snapmad.com. the 2 deliveries i have had, both came in sturdy cardboard tubes, even when one contained only 2 A4 prints! i thought the quality was really good too... im new to this though and have been known to be wrong... lol

@ the O.P. at least the postie didn't write "Oh yes they do" on the package first :)
