dont know if anyone has brought this up yet, but there is a new magazine photoplus aimed at canon owners, I have just had the second issue and so far they have been very good packed with info and a photshop dvd with each issue, the other good thing if you subscribe on line you get 3 issues for £3 :thumbs:

picked the 2nd one up today, the tutorials are great for amateurs, both in the mag and on DVD, but as pointed out last time we had this thread, 'Future' publishers don't pay for your images and i think you also lose copyright of your image too.
 
Just ordered online for an annual subscription and guess what, they gave a £5 off code on any magazine from www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk.

The first to respond to this gets the code PMed to him/her ;)

Just bought my first Mag today and found it fantastis
 
Future Magazines no longer have stock of Issues 2 and 3 of PhotoPlus Canon (Nov and Dec 2007). If anyone has these for sale please contact me. Phil@Lumiweb.com

only joking I think its a great magazine for a beginer like my self just hope they keep up the good work did you see the good looking chap doing the software test ;)

mmm let me think about that... Nope :lol:

The magazine was ok... Just some bits obviously slanted towards Canon, but most was fairly general. I was surprised it was billed as a Canon mag tbh. THen again I did just buy the one, maybe some had more canon stuff in them.
 
Does anyone have the first three issues of PhotoPlus for Canon cameras, and if so would you consider selling them to me as second hand copies at a reasonable price? Is so, then please let me know. Thanks :)
 
I have November 07 & February 2008. First PM gets them in the post, free minus the disks of course.
 
I bought this when it first came out, and thought it was a good magazine, especially as I own a Canon. Has some good tips too.
I took out a subscription a little while ago, to releive them of a Manfrotto monopod for doing so, (gift promotion at the time), but still waiting for it. Had a letter begining of this month explaining 'overwhelming response to promotion' etc., would be with me in next 28 days. Still waiting, but I'm a trusting soul :D
I think they'll do a Nikon one soon.
 
I took out a subscription in December, they had changed the freebie from monopod to the Lastolite reflector and I got it thru in about 2-3 wks..shortly followed by the magazine itself.
Maybe they are struggling for stocks on monopod??:shrug:
 
I'm hanging around until the monopod or something else becomes available but of all the mags this one gives it to you in plain English, as a newcomer that means a lot.
 
Has anyone had problems accessing the video tutorials on the cover disc? It seems to work fine on the PC at home but not on the laptop. Nothing happens when you click on the link to play the video. The laptop is not connected to the internet at all. Could this be the problem perhaps?

Could be. Mine seem to work ok, but I'm 'connected'

Update on the wayward monopod.........
Got another letter this morning, identical to the first one.
Seems I got another 28 days to wait :bang:

Please do beware... Under NO circumstances should you sign away your copyright. If these magazines insist on a contract that gives them your copyright, just walk away. They are not worth doing business with. ESPECIALLY if they want to publish you photographs for nothing. The cheek!!!

there was something about this in one of the mags postbag section have a read, it works fine on both my pc and laptop but have only tried when on the internet

Thanks Rickj :) I don't suppose you have the magazine with it in to hand do you? I don't have it here and I'd really like to sort this out before I leave for the day at 5pm... I really appreciate the help :)

I may be too late if you're out at 5, but I've found the letter. In issue 4, January's.
The reply was you need, or update, Adobe Flash Player for the tutorials to run.

Hope that helps ;)

think mine has this morning...or at least the other half mentioned that an oblong package had arrived, something else for her to carry :lol:
 
Quick post to say a public thanks to Veracocha for sending me the November issue of PhotoPlus Magazine.

If anyone has copies of issues 1 and 3 of PhotoPlus (October & December) and is willing to pass them on to me then please let me know. Thanks :)
 
Veracocha, is the feb 2008 issue still available from you? I'm desperate trying to find it here in germany...
 
Hi. Was just wondering whether anyone has Issue 1 of the PhotoPlus (Canon) mag on sale Oct 2007 that they would liek to sell...to me?
