Hi, did anyone get a copy of Decembers new PhotoPlus magazine, I've looked everywhere a't find a copy, either I was a bit late or they only produced limited copies which have all been sold.

yep I got mine around the 16th do you subscribe??? if not you should free monopod at the momenr ;) jan issue out 14th dec
 
Thanks for reply, I have recently subscribed, so hopefully will get the monopod, bit too late for the Dec issue, sold out, obviously proving popular.

I think I saw it in Asda, but haven't bought an issue yet.

Is it much better than the usual magazines on sale?
Im getting a bit bored of the same, tired, old stuff.

"Master your DSLR.....How to shoot dramatic landscapes......." etc
And they all give the same answers, just gloss over the basics of aperture priority or shutter priority mode, etc etc.
 
Tbh Marcel I think all the mags are pretty much of a muchness, but this being Canon only, I have read the odd thing about the Eos that makes me go 'well I never knew that'.
Probably all in the manual but I digest things better with pretty pics :D

Thanks Glo. To be honest, that's what I'm after from magazines. I want to read something and be able to say "I never knew that"

I'm actually leaning towards Digital Photo now / Photoshop magazines instead. Theres more in there to learn I feel.
 
Marcel, I think I might dip my toe in with the Photochop mags too.
But Photoplus is worth a look too, frinstance....

This month theres an Expert/Reader feature that Im yet to read called 'help me buy a flashgun',
Im looking forward to that as I need a flash.

Theres quite a lot on portraits.

Theres a feature on using TV Mode.

25 Creative SLR effects.

Photoshop for Portraits.

Hi everyone, thanks for your comments, just returned from a shopping expedition in crowded Chester, tried all the WHSmiths I know, Morrisons, Tescos, Borders, etc, can't get a copy, that's a shame. A friend loned me issue 1, was impressed, bought issue 2, liked it so have subscibed, but I think the first issue to be delivered is either Jan or Feb, since this mag is dedicated to Canon DSLR users, I came across a few interesting items, plus plenty of well explained photoshop tecniques. I know what you mean about the same old articles, probably why I'm starting to lose interest in Digital Camera mag, I'm hoping at least for the first 12 mths this new mag might offer something different.

Bought the first issue of the magazine before I bought my 400D, and have had every one since. Found it great having just moved to a DSLR, and have learnt loads from it. Had a shock when I read this months though, was sat there reading letter of the month, and thought, that sounds familiar, then realised why - it was an email I had written after they asked for peoples opinions of the mag after the first issue!!! What was really weird though, was the fact that I had been looking round at the prices of new CF cards in the morning because I want a spare one, and that was the prize for my letter!
 
Big THANK YOU to Keith (Ugs), copy arrived today, not only has Keith gone out of his way to get it for me, but didn't want any payment for it, now that says a lot for the sort of people at TP, however, I hope you won't be offended Keith but I have your address now, & a Christmas card & payment is winging it's way down to you.

Yeah!! glad it arrived .... there was always the chance the PO would "lose" it and make me look stupid!
No - not offended .. looking forward to a Xmas card from deepest Cheshire :)
