hi, i'm thinking of buying photomatix but i dont know where to start.

firtsly whats the difference between the pro version and the light version and does anyone have any examples.

secondly has anyone bought from hdrsoft?

I bought it using the following link, with student discount.

http://www.hdrsoft.com/order/academic.html

I recently finished at college myself but luckily still have a couple of apprentices in the office.

Used one of their email address's and they were sent a link to the heavily discounted download which they then forward on to me.

Hey presto, good luck!

Download the light version as a trial and see if you like the results you get before spending the cash.

Light version leaves a watermark across the image I think.

the only one i've done with photomatix so far.

Difference seems to be that you ca not save HDR images ( .hdr ) in the light version ( very few use this anyway as the only way to see a "hdr" is to convert it via tonemapping to 8-bit ( low dynamic range ) )

I use the pro version that has the photoshop tonemapping plugin, included. I like being able to tonemap single jpg or any image inside Photoshop.

Heres one of my tonemapped images ( 2 exposures ).

excellent, thank for the help. so i'm thinking photomatix pro is the option to go for at the minute.
