I have the Photomatix trial installed and find that when I select the file browser to import bracketed photos that Photomatix crashes if the folder is not displaying refreshed thumbnails but the NEF icon for the files.
I contacted Photomatix support who replied very quickly and said that they had someone else with that problem and it seemed to be caused by Capture One. When they uninstalled Capture One the problem went away.
The workaround is to drag and drop files into Photomatix.
Anyone on here with that combination of software and found the same problem?

Hi, there, Yes! I had installed Photomatix Pro v 4.2 and dared to install Capture One v 6 (trial version) yesterday when Photomatix decided to crash every time I wanted to import photos using the open file menu (drag and drop works). I uninstalled Capture One and the problem went away.

It is a pity because I liked the way Capture One converts RAW files into TIFF.

I contacted the Photomatix support but did not receive an answer up to now.

Photomatix support answered today and confirmed the existing incompatibility which they say ist due to a bug in Capture One 6 Phase One ought to have fixed by now (they obviously havn't).

Photomatix confirm Drag-and-Drop as the trouble-free way to load images.

Photomatix say it may also effect the Save-As command in case I should use Save instead.

I thought it must be a rare combination, Photomatix and Capture One, with the lack of response, but I'm glad to know I'm not alone!

I don't suppose Capture One is in any hurry to fix the bug as it isn't affecting them!

Hi, I decided not to purchase Capture One and uninstalled the trial version. For just converting RAW files to TIFF, Canon's Digital Photo Professional does an easy to handle job. Anything after Photomatix goes through Photoshop.
