Edit My Images
No
I am a complete noob to photography and i have just purchased a sony a200 due to be delivered tomorrow.

What i was hoping for was for some of you to point me in the direction of some websites that would explain how to create certain images.

for example:

images where the background is blurryy but the main interest in the photo is really in focus.

The other thing is doing light trails and things like that.

i dont want to run before i can walk so to speak but i would like some websites that really explain this kind of thing to you.

i hope that makes sense!!

many thanks

p.s im really excited to get my camera tomorrow!!like a kid at xmas!!

The first thing to do is get hold of a copy of "understanding exposure" by Bryan Peterson

It will really help Promise.

To be honest, you're already on the best website possible to have all those questions and more answered for you  Just post your questions in the relevent forum and wait for the knowledge to flow :)

:welcome: to TP

Oh and enjoy your new camera:)

I agree with Grendel there Mysterio. Just put up a thread, and your question will be answered. I have learnt so much from this forum, and I guarantee it will help you. Welcome to TP!

When I got my DSLR back in April, I was told on here to get said book. That combined with this forum will give you a great grounding and help you no end. Once you get your cam, get out there and start posting pics for C&C. You'll soon learn what works and what doesn't, and should see your 'tography improve.

I am however guilty of not posting anywhere near enough pics for C&C. Note to self, post more!

Posting more = learning more and more improvement!

Echo what the others have said here. Get your camera and start to have a play, then come on here and ask specific questions. To answer them now would go straight over your head if you haven't got the camera in front of you.

There is also a dedicated Sony user thread "Sony Users - Part 2" for any Sony specific questions. There is also a Part 1 if you've got plenty of time to kill! ;)

thanks for the replies guys, i didnt really want to post all the questions i have on here cause i thought it would annoy people!!

but if thats the way to do it then i will.

thanks

Hope we can be of help! But PLEASE read the manual to see if your question might be answered in there. Not all of them will be but some probably are!

Enjoy the hobby (and don't keep a running score on your spending - you'll scare yourself!!!)

pick up this months "practical photography" magazine, it has a feature on creating light trails. With an emphasis on how to minimise digital noise.
