A couple of comments, intended constructively.

went for a simplistic look

- achieved :)

- self portrait on the home page. TBH, I reckon you should re-shoot with better lighting. Also, put a little padding round the image to separate it from the text.

Home Page said:
Here you will be able to look at all my best photographs, as well as how i [2] got into photography and my background.

[1] There's a bit of a grammar issue between the first and second halves of the sentence

"Here you will be able to look at ... how i got into photography and my background."

Is a bit weak. Perhaps add a second verb... i.e. "and discover how I got into photography"

[2] Capitalise 'I'

[3] We don't discover how you got into photography anywhere else on the site as promised, just that you "[found a] passion for photography" and are now studying a BTEC.

- In the Galleries section, I'm a bit off put that the initial view is blank and you have to make a selection from a pop-up menu to see anything. With so few images to display I almost wonder whether it's worth using this kind of navigation.

- In Galleries > Portrait, is the thumbnail of the first portrait supposed to look like it's been treated to a Motion Blur in Photoshop? The larger version does not.

- The shots in your Photojournalism section don't seem to live up to their billing.

thanks Musicman, ill take your points into consideration and work on the site a bit more. The thumbnail on the portrait page shouldnt be blurred, ill take a look and re-do the image soon.

the layout is pretty good , you have kept the main part of the information visible without having to scroll ( apet hate of mine) . keep it clean and simple and you wont go far wrong

Very good

Cheers Steve

Matt, as Musicman has said, you need to run a spell/grammar checker on it. There are numerous places where you have used the lower case 'i' where is should be capitalised.

For example, on your Blog page, "So i’ve been..." should be "So I've been...."

On the same page "...images to start of my..." should be "...images to start off my..."

Personally I don't like smileys on 'serious' web pages - great for forums and social networking sites but not on a site where you are trying to sell yourself.

All in all a reasonable first attempt but do pay attention to the detail as well.

typo error

I got into photography back in 2007, when a family memeber brought a DSLR and let me play around with it. After a few weeks of seeing what it was capable of I started to
develop a great liking of how things looked through a lens. A few months later I was able to purchase my own DSLR, a Sony A200, to further pursue my new found hobby.
