I'm interested in doing a Wedding Photography training course, and was wondering if anyone here has any experience of them, or recommendations on particular courses.

I was looking at one: Here

Any comments on the course content or anything else from anybody??

I see they are based either in Oxford or Cheshire but they are not telling where in Cheshire.

Which end of the country are you based at? I know of a few good ones oop North. Have a look at Peak Imaging and Brett Harkness.

As for course content, I'm not a wedding tog myself so please take this with a pinch of salt until one of the experts comes along but they seem to concentrate on the outdoor stuff.... but that is the easier bit. If you ask the pros they will tell you that it is the low light shots that can make or break a wedding shoot. Hence they invest a lot in the lenses that are often needed to get those shots.

I'm also a little wary of a course that says you can start wedding photography with that level of equipment, for the reasons stated above. I'm sure you can get wonderful results outdoors with a 350D and a kit lens but I'd be very interested in the other 1/3 of the album!

Thanks for the comments, and apologies for the delay in responding - half term holidays meant no internet for a week :eek:

I'm based in south east london. Havent made any decisions yet as that particular course conflicts with something else at the moment.

It's looks an interesting course, but what I'm really after is somewhere I can get the beginnings of a portfolio started. I have done a couple of weddings now, but understandably without a decent portfolio it's difficult to attract new couples.

Equipment wise, I agree with your comments. I personally shoot with a D2x and a D300. Lenses are all F2.8.

You are going to be paying a lot of money to some learn stuff, but experience will help you more, why not see is any of the regular wedding toggers on here need a second shooter at anytime, or hawk yourself around a few local pro's and see what comes of it, at the end of the day they can only say no.
