I have been messing about with my processing through Piccasa (free download) but want something that I can do a little more with. I notice that Amazon are advertising Photoshop Element 7 for under £40. Question???? can other users reccommend PSE7 for a beginner such as myself. I would like to order a copy before PSE8 becomes the norm.

I used PSE7 for a while and found it very good - plenty of features and for £40 seems reasonable - moved on to CS4 now. Should keep you occupied and satisfied for a while

ive been using paint shop pro 8...i've found it difficult to make comparisons as to what features there are in CS4, elements 7 and my current programme to help me decide what to go for...no point paying an arm and a leg for features that will not be used

That sounds an excelent price though and will be miles better than picassa

I started out with PSE (albeit version 5) and found it very good.

If you buy PSE used from the Amazon traders it's about £27 which is a bargain !

As the disc will only have been used for an install, then used is a seriously good option...

I have PSE7 and it is excellent.
Just be prepared to learn slowly.
All photo editors seem to be complex.
If you get it think about getting a book on it - I can recommend Scott Kelby's book. It is well illustrated and easy to follow.

Thank you all for your comments...... I'm convinced:thumbs:
I will order my copy as soon as possible. Thank you again.

My copy arrived today and loaded it up

I guess like all things new I will have start slowly and see how it goes.... a book would probably help
