Has anybody found a photography show floor plan for this year? I can usually track one down but not this year.

have you run it through any Ai tools. I don't think there is one on the website but as all the stand numbers are on the exhibitor list it shouldn't be too hard to get Ai to do the leg work
 
I have no idea how to do that. It has always been available. Perhaps it is just a money spinner…
 
I've just asked one of the organisers if there is a floorplan available. They've always been published before so it would be odd to omit it this year.
 
it looks like the floor plan document for last year was only produced 5 days prior to the show opening date (3/3/25)

:Edit: and they have just sent out email entry pass reminders / tickets so they might be doing the document admin stuff today

Never done this show before. Any does and don'ts or tips?. I know the whole idea of "show bargains" is a bit of a myth from previous experience of other shows (shooting, fishing etc) that I've attended.

Depends on what you want to get out of it. Viewing the wider range of products than you might see at a camera store or talks. If its talks then have a look at the schedule and take a note of which stands the talks are on and what time. its easy to let time get away and miss them
 
I've just heard back from the Organisers, the floorpan will be included with the free show guide that is available on the day. They did send me a copy but I'm just waiting to hear back to make sure they're ok with me sharing it. I'm not sure why they wouldn't be but will share it here as soon as I can.
 
I’m heading there Saturday.

I went years ago and fancied going to some of the talks and to play around with the gear.

Wondering if I should take a camera and lens with me in case anything interesting is there to snap. I think they had some models one year.

The bargain bit is being able to leave it in the car boot until the wife is out rather than her seeing another parcel arriving…

In all seriousness there can be good prices on accessories, but you could probably beat many of them with some real research.

Take a good look at the free talks beforehand, as they can be interesting but don’t be afraid to walk away and use the time elsewhere if not useful.

usually the models are there on stands showing lighting technique, so unless you're triggering the lights then your just photographing the models in ambient (which given its indoors isn;t great), that just gives off creepy vibes.

I just remember a lot of people hovering around snapping away at the models a few years ago. I may take my OM set up as I understand they will have a macro section there set up for people to take images, so that is something I would love being a macro guy.

Back in film days, models on stands at shows (and at some clubs) would have hundreds of shots taken of themselves with no films being changed...

One for the regular show attendees here: what are the Friday crowds like compared to Saturday/Sunday?

They have the creators playground which is almost theatrical style sets for quirky photos(Alice in Wonderland type vibe last time it was at the NEC).

They also have various models in sets with various fixed lighting arrangements with models in rotation.

Some of the other stands, like Rotolight, also have their own demos with models and their lighting but they become a real scrum.
 
And the floor plan is now available in the latest issue of Photography News.

If all goes according to plan, and government permitting, I shall be there Sunday and Monday.
